WELCOME TO 2025
January 1, 2025
WELCOME TO 2025 and SAVE THIS DATE – FEB 22nd noon to midnight!!
As we enter another New Year, Marathon Jam continues a focus on our mission to raise funds and provide healing through music for injured military and first responder heroes and their families. As the year ends, it is common to reflect on the nostalgia and highlights of the past year, but also to look forward to the new possibilities and hopes for the coming year.
With your help, Marathon Jam raised nearly $20,000 in 2024. This was highlighted by our annual Marathon Jam in February which has now continued for twenty-one years. This was followed by our continued support of biweekly music provided at the Kernersville VA Clinic, frequent participation at the Veteran’s Bridge Home Coffee events in High Point. There was also the addition of biweekly music by our MJ Hospital Volunteers at the new NC State Veterans Home in Kernersville.
Our state was devastated by the loss and destruction of Hurricane Helene but Marathon Jam was again there to support the cause raising $2,000 for support of Veterans affected by the hurricane in Western North Carolina.
We are pleased to announce our 2025 Marathon Jam will be held on Saturday February 22nd from Noon to Midnight at American Legion Post 6 in Carrboro, NC (just outside of Chapel Hill) as before. We encourage all musicians and singers to start your fundraising so we can make this our biggest year ever since there are so many needs!!
Marathon Jam enthusiastically continues its mission in 2025 as we continue to find new avenues of outreach with plans of other new things to come in 2025. We are currently planning a special HEALING THROUGH MUSIC & MOVEMENT event in April 2025 that will further our commitment to our mission and purpose. Stay tuned for more details.
As we begin another spin around the sun, the Board wishes to express its gratitude to all those musicians, sponsors and donors who made 2024 successful.
Here’s to another outstanding year in 2025!
Respectfully,
Charles Fields, MD
President Marathon Jam
