Our Mission
Healing Through Music
The Marathon Jam is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization which seeks to improve the lives of injured Veterans, First Responders and their families.
Our motto, Curatus Per Musica (“Healing Through Music”) seeks to unite a diverse group of creative people and mobilize them to use their talents to raise money and perform outreach to improve the lives of those who have sacrificed so much for us.
Age, race, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation, politics: none of that make any difference to us.
All who honor the service and sacrifice of our Military, our First Responders, and their families are welcome here.
Our Primary Goal
The primary goal of The Marathon Jam is to hold an annual fundraiser, for which we are named. The Marathon Jam gathers musicians and artists of all ages and styles to play music and create art for twelve straight hours, with the musicians generating donations by securing sponsors for each hour they participate in the jam.
Since 2009, the recipients of our annual fundraiser have been the Fort Bragg/Fort Liberty Fisher House and Camp Lejeune Fisher House both right here in North Carolina. They are wonderful “comfort homes” where families can stay at no cost while a military loved one is receiving medical treatment. We have chosen this charity because of their excellent rating and the great work they do with Veterans and their families.
Our Outreach
In 2015, The Marathon Jam created Outreach Programs to help those who cannot come to the Jams. We take the Jams to them. The Marathon Jam now sends artists and musicians into VA and other treatment centers to facilitate the rehabilitation of our military, firemen and policemen through entertainment and education while reminding these brave men and women that they are NOT forgotten.
